Central Terminal Summer Concert Series

July 13, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Meet us at the Terminal for a celebration of neo soul and jazz–blending a piece of history with modern, musical art. The night will feature performances by the ever-talented Rod Bonner, Flute Johnson, and Farrow.

Learn about the artists:

Rod Bonner is a Buffalo native who was destined for a career in music from an early age having been classically trained at the age of 4. Rod’s true passion for music and desire for his own musical voice began when he was introduced to the genres of Jazz, R&B, Funk and Neo-Soul. These addictive styles ignited a flame that has guided Rod’s 20+ year music career, both as a touring musician, producer, and solo artist. Rod has toured with 3-time Grammy Nominated Saxophonist Najee, been a part of national recording artist Doja Cat’s Grammy performance, and has recently formed his own unit, “Rod Bonner & Co,” which highlights the roots of funk, R&B, neo-soul, and jazz.

Carl “Flute” Johnson is a notable and influential Buffalo jazz percussionist. With his roots in the church, Johnson has performed across the region and built a cult following in the jazz scene. Many local artists credit Flute Johnson as an instrumental influence and inspiration for their love of music.

Farrow is a Rock ‘n Soul band from Buffalo, New York with thought-provoking lyrics and infectious melodies. This diverse group of musicians creates songs that make you move to the movement and savor everyday joys like eating a fried pierogi dipped in hot sauce. Led by producer/bass player André Pilette and singer/lyricist Michael Farrow, the band features Tim Webb on drums, Michael Ruopoli on percussion, Cory Clancy on guitar, Rufus “Breezy” Cole Jr. on keys, and Danielle Johnson on backing vocals.
