2009 Events

4th Annual Classic and Custom Car Show – July 25 2009, 12pm-6pm – The CTRC and Lakeside Classic Cruisers in conjunction with the East Side Car Club are pleased to announce that they will be co-hosting the 4th annual classic and custom car show at the Central Terminal.

Blues Brews and BBQ – August 1st 2009, 4pm – 10pm – Join us for music, BBQ and beer at Central Terminal. Featuring Flying Bison Beer, a silent auction and art gallery. Tickets are $10 presale or $12 at the door. Must be 21+ to attend. Bands TBD, those interested in playing please contact us for more information.

Central Terminal Train Show – September 12&13, 10am-4pm – Interested vendors can print the contract by clicking here. Join us for our annual train show. Adults:$5.00 (good for both days), Children under 12 free. Attractions include:

* Operating Train Layouts for all the family to enjoy.
* Craftsmans Corner, to learn new ways to improve your layout.
* Children’s play area with Thomas the Tank.
* Door Prizes & Refreshments.
* Videos, DVDs, Books & Photographs that have any thing to do with Trains.
* Sale of Trains and their accessories for all size layouts & collectors.

Picnic on the Plaza VII: Oktoberfest – September 26 2009, 6pm-11pm – Celebrate Autumn in traditional Munich style! Enjoy an evening of music in the concourse “beer garden” with “Buffalos Most In Demand German Band!!”, the Frankfurters!. Choices of beer, food, soft drinks and merchandise will be available. Tickets are $10 and include one drink. Guests in costume get in for free!

Members Only Tour – October 4 2009, 11am – Special tour for Friends of Central Terminal, allowing people to see restricted areas of the building. Want to attend? Become a Member

Buffalo Tours 2009 Terminal tours – All tours start at 11 am and are approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours in length. Tours are run through Buffalo Tours. Please contact Buffalo Tours (716-852-3300) with any questions.

Past Events

Dyngus Day on the East Side – April 13 2009, 5pm-9pm – Join us in celebrating Dyngus Day on the East Side. The Dyngus Day parade starts at the Broadway Market at 5, and ends at the Terminal at 5:45. Admission is $10 and include a wrist band which gives $2 admission to other East Side venues. Music from Those Idiots, performances by the Polish Heritage Dancers, beer from Flying Bison, and food from Potts Deli and Grill, Ulrich’s Tavern and Wardynski Meats. Don’t miss it! 12th Annual Spring Clean Up – April 25 2009, 9am to 1pm – Come and help us prepare the concourse and grounds for yet another busy summer season! Gloves, work attire recommended and tools are always welcome. Free food and drink will be available.

TAPS Celebrity Ghost Hunt – May 22 and 23, 2009 – Explore the terminal and search for ghosts with the stars of the SciFi Channel show “Ghost Hunters”. Tickets are SOLD OUT!

May Ghost Hunt at Central Terminal – May 24, 2009 7pm – 1am – By popular demand, a special night of ghost hunting for those who could not attend the TAPS Celebrity Ghost Hunt. Join the WNY Ghost Hunters in investigating the concourse and other areas of the Terminal. Special guests Mason Winfield and Psychic Michelle Hall will be in attendance. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets (they will not be available at the door). We are offering a special discount for people attending the TAPS event, only $30 along with your TAPS ticket (password needed to purchase tickets online). This event is 18+ years old only, sorry!

The Student Celebration of Visual Arts – June 6&7 2009 – 10am-5pm. Join us for our 5th year showcasing the art of students from across WNY. The Williamsville Art Teachers of the SCVA (Student Celebration of the Visual Arts) and the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation (CTRC) will be displaying student submissions of painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media. Food and beverages will be for sale.

80th Anniversary Celebration – June 27 2009 – 5pm -10pm – We’ve made it 80 years, and it’s only getting better. $5 donation at the door. Music by the Vignettes “featuring songs in the style of the Andrew Sisters” and the big band sound of Dick Riederer’s “Empire State Express” – a gathering of WNY musicians playing the music of Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey. Food by Potts Deli and beer from Flying Bison. This event is all ages. Come celebrate with us!
