The Public Relations Representative is responsible for communicating with volunteers, donors, government officials, the media, and the public on behalf of the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation (CTRC). The successful candidate will use all forms of media and communication to build, maintain and manage the reputation of the CTRC.
The Public Relations Representative will
- Develop and implement communications strategies and plans for internal and external constituencies utilizing all available communications vehicles (print, television, radio, and electronic)
- Write press releases and other communications, as required by the Board of Directors, to convey the organization’s story
- Assist in creating advertising and promotional materials
- Create and manage PR budgets, media lists, media calendars and agency relationships
- Identify and secure speaking and PR opportunities that support key CTRC objectives
- Build and position the CTRC brand
- Be able to function as part of a team and be open to other views and new ideas
- Assist committees with fundraising activities
- Provide support for executive communications activities, including media training
- Have a desire to be a part of a creative and dedicated all volunteer organization
This position requires a commitment of approximately 5 hours per week.
All qualified applicants will also be given consideration for appointment as a member of the Marketing Committee. The successful candidate who is chosen as the PR Representative may also serve as Chair of this committee.
