Red Scream Films Signs David Kann to Direct ‘Prison of the Psychotic Damned’

(PRWEB) October 21, 2005 — Red Scream Films announced today that they have signed David Kann to direct their new supernatural horror thriller “Prison of the Psychotic Damned,” slated for an April 2006 release.

Red Scream Films is a recently launched independent film production company specializing in high-concept, high-quality, low-budget films for both domestic and foreign markets. Red Scream Films CEO David R Williams is best known for his cult horror novel Killer Asylum and is co-publisher of the controversial genre magazine Red Scream.

David Kann directed Ancient Evil 2 and Anubis. Both films were released direct to dvd and both have generated considerable positive response from horror fans and critics alike.

“Prison of the Psychotic Damned” is to be shot on location in the Buffalo Central Terminal. It concerns a group of urban explorers/ghost hunters who decide to spend the night in the terminal, only to find that the stories of the terminal being haunted are all too true.

Abandoned for nearly 40 years, this once magnificent art deco structure was built in 1929, the year before the Great Depression. It quickly fell on hard times and has never recovered.

“It is a fantastic setting,” said Williams, “without a doubt, a multi-million dollar set. We have been working with the local preservation society who are dedicated to bringing this wonderful old building back to life. We hope that our film will help in some small way, if only to make more people aware that this architectural treasure exists.”

Prison is scheduled to begin production in November and is slated for an April 2006 release.

“Our markets are home video and dvd, cable and satellite television, and broadcast television. Select theatrical dates are a distinct possibility,” said Williams.
