More info on the 80th

Some more information and approximate times for the 80th Anniversary Celebration.

The entire event will be inside the concourse. There will be tables and chairs available, but they are first come first serve, so feel free to bring your own lawn chairs.

The reinstalled concourse clock will of course be available for photographs, and the new reproduction of the Dedication Day Plaque will be unveiled. There will be a formal flag presentation (flag once hung over the Capitol) at 5:00 and the music will start at 5:30pm (music ends at 9:30).

Food and drink will be available during the entire event.

The event runs from 5pm to 10 pm and admission is a $5 donation at the door. See you there!!

(Fireworks at 10pm? Would make a nice photo opp if so!)

Actually, we looked into fireworks for the 75th and a nice show was SUPER EXPENSIVE. More than we imagined. So unless you’re buying, sadly no fireworks.

You know, the Buffalo Central Terminal has changed a lot since the 75th. There is now railings on top of the ticket counters, replica light fixtures in the lobby, and of course the new lettering. Some other stuff to name is the new plaque, the concourse has a lot of broken glass removed, more areas are opened up like the resturant and the little shops at the end of the concourse. Don’t forget the restored baggage cart. And lets not don’t forget, the clock is back.

I can’t wait to see the new photographs. Please upload the improvements as soon as you can. Thank you, Charles
