George, how does this grab you, from last Friday's Buffalo News:
http://www.buffalonews.com/cityregion/buffaloerie/story/708186.html
(It would have been nice if they added a picture of the clock all lit up in the concourse again!)

I saw on Channel 7 that the clock is coming home to the terminal but there is no article on the website. We hae to get an article up about that so people can follow what is going on.

Well.... John (if you're the John I think you are), we talked last Saturday morning! I did some welding on the doors being repaired on spring cleanup, and trying to help Walt a little bit straightening out the wiring. I don't think we ever had a formal introduction. (Sometimes things get missed when they are right in front of us!) No, I'm not a ghost, at least not just yet! See ya Saturday morning!

BTW, with the 80th less than 2 weeks away, if there is anything to post regarding that, like the pending return of the concourse clock, the beautiful job of repainting the lettering above the doors of the west main entrance that the ladies are doing, the drywall work in the soon to be souvenier shop (John's room), the refinished and repainted doors (the ones we could save), and the status of the reproduced dedication plaque. Let's get some more photos up too to show the progress (the 'after' shots)! I'm excited about the 80th already!

I was told last year during spring cleanup that the train concourse/ platforms are still owned by Amtrak and are being leased out for equipment storage, and the REA is owned by the City of Buffalo. I don't know if there are any pending deals to acquire them. Maybe someone in CTRC management could respond on that.

I have a quick question,
Will the platforms ever be aquired by you guys in the future? I'm really worried about that structure because it is open to the elements and it is in horrible shape. I'm really afraid something bad will happen to that structure. To me, that building is one of the corner stones of the building. Something has to be done about that structure. Without that structure, how will this "high speed rail" come into play with the Terminal?

PS: Is there any plans with REA? That building looks really bad.

That wouldn't be a bad idea along the front of the parking garage of the plaza running from the southwest to the northeast. I'm sure the local neighborhood doesn't like seeing just a plain graffiti covered block wall. The folks on Bryon St. and Hilton St. would love a change of scenery.
