Warren, it sounds like someone should try to contact Mr. Veeper (Mr. Biden) on that one. That's on his home turf and he might be able to help out.

I have always loved the terminal, even as a child, driving past on the way to my aunt's house on Eagle st....I would LOVE to see it rehabbed, but it's going to be a tough sell, considering it's right in the middle of downtown Baghdad. You are taking your life into your hands going down there, particularly after dark.I have been working in the area for a while now, and even in broad daylight, the hookers, junkies and panhandlers are all over you. How about the shooting right in front of St. John Kanty's, among many others? To make the location viable, you'll have to raze everything in a one mile radius around it.It's NOT Polonia anymore.

As I mentioned before, Central Terminal would be a great business park in itself, once redeveloped, and once the neighborhood immediately surrounding the terminal gets redeveloped, the terminal can be the centerpiece of the entire redeveloped business district in that immediate vicinity, and give a whole new look to Buffalo's east side! If Amtrak returns regular service to the terminal, and the light metro rail connection eventually goes in, even if high speed rail doesn't come to be in the immediate future, these are steps in the right direction. Let's make that 'box' in Depew into a car dealership!

Reasons to use the Central Terminal:
1) Depew isnt close to downtown nor does it have the potential to be light rail accessible
2) Central Terminal is on the Airport Corridor and the old Belt Line Loop
3) Exchange Street Station would require trains to pull in and back out
4) High Speed Passenger Rail will not be going to Niagara Falls, therefore it makes sense to reactivate the beltway and have an offshoot to Niagara Falls
5) The Central Terminal Tower is ideal for government transportation offices like NYSDOT, NFTA and GBNRTC, as well as, transportation, logistics, distribution, import/export, international trade, etc. Infact this could change from a residential community surrounding Central Terminal to a Logistics campus similar to the Life Sciences Campus.
6) The Central Terminal has plenty of parking for both PassengerHigh Speed Rail and a Light Rail Park and Ride
7) If one looks at a 9 block campus for ECC downtown, then it becomes clear that the Bus Terminal must go! Central Terminal has plenty of room for Passenger Rail, Light Rail and Bus Terminal.
8) Central Terminal is roughly equidistant between airport, downtown, Life Sciences Campus and Outer Harbor and only blocks from Larkin District and Humboldt Park.
9) It would change the entire dynamic of the eastside.

With high speed rail at the terminal the tower would become desirable office space,

FYI If you are looking for some old time train benches Wilmington Del is removing its old benches this year as a part of its renovation, they might be willing to give them too you (originally from phil pa)

I read all the facts on why Central Terminal should be used for High Speed Rail and I thought it was very cool. The Central Terminal is made for High Speed Rail. Its time to stop using the Depew Station and use the Central Terminal.
In my opinion I don't think the Central Terminal would be good for hotel space, residential, and condos. I think the tower space should be limited to simply railroad offices of Amtrak, CSX, Conrail, etc and other businesses that could rent a floor.
