Dear Friends of Central Terminal:
As you may be aware, 2009 is the 80th anniversary of the Buffalo Central Terminal. As part of this celebration, we are looking to duplicate and dedicate a replica of the Terminal’s original bronze dedication plaque.
To date, the “Plaque Fund” has reached only 29% of its goal. As the plaque must go to production at least 8 weeks prior to dedication, time is of an essence. The 80th anniversary celebration is scheduled for June 27, 2009.
Please help to restore the life and spirit of one of Buffalo’s finest landmarks. Become a part of the 80th anniversary celebration. Direct your heartfelt dedications to Plaque Fund, Buffalo Central Terminal Restoration Corporation, PO Box 468, Buffalo N.Y. 14212. Please note “Plaque Fund” on your checks.
Thank you for your thoughts and dedication to the Terminal and this meaningful project.
Sincerely.
Larry Schwindler

Is there a Paypal address to donate to? I don’t have a checking account.
Is there any photos of the original plaque that hung in the lobby?
To make a PayPal donation simply click on ‘donations’ under the home page. Then click on the ‘Make A Donation” button.
Ozzy, we will be getting photos in the very near future, hopefully.
Once the fund has reached its goal, and photos have been obtained, does anyone have an idea on the lead time of the reproduction? And whether or not it will be done locally?
Just made a PayPal donation. Please keep us posted on how we are doing with achieving the goal. 8 weeks prior means around about Dyngus Day. It goes by fast!
Paul, as Larry says in the post, it requires at least 8 weeks to reproduce.

It’s a shame more people show interest in a stupid ghost hunt instead of a worthy project such as this..
Well, I bet most of the money from the ghost hunt will help fund the plaque project. Remember it is a hunt to benefit the Buffalo Terminal.
I made my donation, you should put up some sort of meter so everyone knows how much more needs to be donated. Just an idea.
And maybe, just like with the concourse clock, keep a list of those who made donations to the project to display inside after the dedication ceremony.
Hi folks, just curious, does anyone know the fate of the original plaque?
Tom M.
The original plaque has not been destroyed. It still is in the WNY area. It is not available to the
CTRC but as time goes by who knows.
Right now the thing to do is to start putting the artifacts back into the building. Although many artifacts do still exist, we still need to replicate a lot of them.
I’m still hoping someone replicates some of the lamps! Be nice to have one or two on hand to display on the 80th. Works of art, donated to a noble cause!
Hey Everyone, the Plaque Project Fund has reached 36% of it’s goal. Still a long way to go; but we’re getting there! Thank you!
