Oh my God….TAPS is coming back. I would so pay an arm and a leg to investigate with them. It better not be one of those things were you to be over 18 to do these investigations. I’m praying it is a 16+ for investigating. It has always been my goal to invesigate with TAPS since 2004.

Easy, Ozzy! Let’s find out more details as they unfold.
I noticed on the Travel Channel there’s another group on the program: “Ghost Adventures”, but they’re not quite like TAPS. Their method of investigation might rile up our ghosts at BCT to the point where we might have to let them calm down for awhile afterward, before they let us do any more work in there. We don’t need large objects falling from out of nowhere on us with no apparent explanation. Much less, angry looking apparitions sneering at us in reflections off pieces of broken glass. Or angry voices coming from nowhere saying “Get out!”.
Jason Hawes once had an encounter with a spirit that actually led him to found TAPS. The cautious but courteous method TAPS uses is preferred.
The last encounter I can remember having with a spirit was back in the early 1960’s, when I was about 3 or 4 years old. There was actually 2 encounters I can clearly remember from way back then. With people who had passed away several months before my encounters with them took place, according to my parents.
If the spirits at BCT wish to communicate with me in a friendly way, I’ve got no problem with that. The one that spoke to Adam in German was probably busting his chops. A voice coming from out of nowhere would give anyone a start. I worked with a couple of German machinists, a millwright, and an electrician on the second shift, at GM, some were ball busters for sure. All in good fun though.
(Also, I saw the video clip of Hank’s ‘members only’ tour group on YouTube. I had to laugh when he told the group “Nobody ever pinched me in here, except maybe my wife….”. And “If I die before the restoration is completed, I’ll be here!”.)
I wish I could have went with his group! Check it out!

This is one this I would love to do. I’ve watched Ghosthunters since I was in the Army. I even saw recorded episoded my parents sent me while in Iraq. I would love to step foor into this Terminal for the first time ever with both Jason and Grant. This is something I will drive ll the way from Northern, NJ or take the Amtrak from NY Penn to Buffalo for. I will be there if I can buy the ticket or be choosen.

I had a third encounter I forgot to mention. When I was a young child. I answered the phone once, and a voiced called me by name, and sounded like my grandmother, like she was dying or something. I told my mother and she called my grandmother right away, and my grandmother told my mother she didn’t call at that time. My grandmother didn’t pass away until 1978, several years later. So who was that voice on the phone? I don’t know, even to this day. Strange, huh?
I’m sure there are even some folks as far away as Hong Kong that would want to come to Buffalo for that event. Not necessarily the Cafe Deco or Central Terminal Cafe people either, but some who may have visited those places while there.

I’m praying the event is open to anyone. It better not be an 18+ event because it has always been my goal to investigate with TAPS. Besides my May 2009, I’m going to be 17.

Guys, you should join http://wnyghosthunters.com/ and kickstart a dialogue there. They are just starting out and need new members.

Looks like it will be for those 18+.

Unfortunately, the WNY Ghost Hunters group needs to be 18 and over due to liability reason, but I am pretty sure that the upcoming TAPS event will be open to people under the age of 18. I will email the event coordinator and let you know what I find out.
Thanks for your input and the high amount of interest in ghost investigations at the terminal. Hopefully we can provide more of these types of events in the future! First off, this TAPS event needs to be a HUGE success in order for that to happen. So make sure to tell everyone you know that may be interested in ghost hunting with TAPS this coming May! Send out emails, text you friends, post on your MySpace and Facebook, etc. Let’s really WOW Jason, Grant and the rest of the crew to show them how much support they really have in this area!
Also, feel free to post on the WNYGhostHunters.com message board. We really value everyone’s input and comments.

Follow up on age for TAPS event:
I just got an email stating that the event will be for all ages. Though there is a stipulation that anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. I hope this info helps and that all interested can attend.

Thanks, Ryan. Keep the CTRC posted on when and where tickets can be purchased when they become available, so they can post quick updates here.
I suspect though that large groups may shy any spirits away, as they prefer to interact with just one or two people at a time, which is why encounters seem to be very isolated incidents at best, not just here but everywhere.

Paul,
The groups will be split up in to smaller groups. I have been to these types of events before and some great evidence was still found. Plus the main part of the experience is ghost hunting right next to all the members of TAPS. It will be fun and an experience you will always remember.

Thanks again, Ryan. Ozzy, if you still need a chaperone by then, if I can make it up for the event (I’ll sure as heck try), I might be interested. I’ll be watching and waiting for further news on this. Maybe a large turnout for spring cleanup and intensified late April and early May preparations for this and also for the 80th anniversary celebration in June could possibly stir up some paranormal activity there. We just might luck out! We’ll have to see!
I hope to have been to a few work sessions there before the TAPS event occurs. Maybe we can get some tips on how to gently stir up some light paranormal activity before the investigation occurs. As long as it’s not more than we bargained for!
