A great party! Gets better every year. I am looking forward to next year!

  2. Paul G Says:

I can’t imagine how big it would be once the waiting room is restored and reopened for public events too! That’s a long way off, but will be well worth it! There might need to be shuttle buses from park & ride lots throughout town to keep traffic at the terminal manageable.
Of course, if some big developments come from various sources in the future, and tracks get reconnected out back, we might be able to come by train again too!

  3. Ozzy Says:

Hey Paul, you have some really cool ideas. They are cool and very creative. Are you a volunteer here because I never seen you? If you arn’t, you should become a member because you have great ideas it your making a big difference to this building.
As far as the Waiting Room goes, its going to take along time to clean up that area. Lately we’ve been clearing out an area in the parking gurage to store some of the stuff in the waiting room.

  4. Mike Miller Says:

Paul and Ozzy, the waiting room will never be reopened to the public. It’s too unsafe, as there are large sections of terrazzo that has heaved up and the plaster ceiling is still crumbling.

  5. Ozzy Says:

    Thank you Mr. Miller.

  6. Paul G Says:

I guess I’d have to see the waiting room myself up close and personal to see your point. I only caught a glimpse of the interior during Mobility through the opening where the wall was removed next to the new restrooms, and the surviving corner of the ceiling looking through the arched windows in the rear of the concourse.
I hope to be up for the members only tour Sunday, I already sent the RSVP email. Unless something comes up that I don’t know about in the meantime, I’ll be there!
(“Never” seems a bit final, but restoration at this time is probably not economically possible. It would take more resources than are currently available at this time. I do believe though that there is hope, but it’s a real long way off.)

  7. Mike Miller Says:

Don’t get too caught up in the semantics, Paul! I obviously didn’t mean “never”. I should have said “not at all likely in the immediate future”. Among the other concerns for opening it up: the new restroom facility (which is literally a house), the heaving floor and the leaking roof. It’s likely to remain a storage room for us.
