Special Notes

Often times people send in stories or little notes with their membership dues to let us know what it is about Central Terminal that they love and remember. Today is no different. Nancy wrote: “I own the former BR&P depot in LeRoy NY. It is now the D&R Depot Restaurant. I grew up in Buffalo and often, with my youth group, sang Christmas carols from the mezzanine to welcome holiday travelers.”

What a great treat that must have been! Hopefully in the future that tradition can be reborn.

My special note about the Buffalo Terminal

I really love the Buffalo Central Terminal. Dispite of the brocken glass, graffiti, and missing marble in some areas it is a really a great building. It is one of those buildings that catches your eye when you drive near it. I always like to come down to the clean-ups and attend the many event the CTRC hosts every season. I would hope to see this station shine again as a Amtrak railroad station/Railroad Museum. In the works now, I plan to do an eagle project at the BCT. I have to see if the eagle board will like it. It would be cleaning the 12th floor for tours and other events. I really like this place back in great shape. Also if I won the lottery, I would buy it and make it just the way it was make in 1929 when it first opened its doors.
