Central Terminal: Saving a Buffalo Landmark

I attended the premier of “Central Terminal: Saving a Buffalo Landmark” at the beautiful Montante Cultural Center (formerly St. Vincent de Paul’s R.C. Church) in the Canisius College campus last night.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Barbara Irwin, Canisius College students Kirsten Jahn and Scott Richardson began their ambitious work last December. Enduring extreme cold at the terminal, hundreds of hours of filming, editing, compiling information and blending it all together, these two did a fantastic job of telling the complete story of the Central Terminal.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I was extremely pleased at the outcome. The resulting half hour documentary was sensitive, informative and moving. A very mature effort from 2 fine young adults.

There was a brief speech given by Dr. Irwin and C.T.R.C. President Russell Pawlak, followed by a question and answer session with the whole panel. There are plans to market the documentary to WNED and the rights for it will be turned over to the C.T.R.C. Stay tuned to the C.T.R.C. website for further details.
