by Mike Miller...

This weekend was all about the 4th annual Student Celebration of the Visual Arts show at the Central Terminal. More than 30 schools and more than 400 students participated this year and the quality of the art work was excellent!

On Friday evening, we held a reception for participating teachers and event planners from 4pm to 7pm. After everyone was gone and there was still some wine remaining, Bill, Tracy, Yuri and I treated ourselves to a little candlelit (and moonlit) party until 10pm. How cool is it to have a gigantic train station all to yourself for a little impromptu party? We plan on doing it again this summer.

On Saturday, the turnout was a bit sparse, as we were competing against the Sabres game.

But we were treated to some excellent entertainment from the talented trio of Meghan, Eric and Jack on the mezzanine. These young people were very good and totally captured the attention of the visitors on hand. They have been asked to play at some future terminal events.

On Sunday, the turnout was much better, with people filing in all day. Everyone seemed to enjoy the art work and the artistic backdrop of the concourse.

Here are a few closeups of some of my favorite works:

Comments:
Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to do my eagle project here? If I can, I plan to clean up a floor in the tower, remove paper, remove the broken glass , and remove any building material that is around. If possible I would probably do it later in the year or next year. I know this would help you guys save a lot time and a lot of man hours.

Write back soon.

Ozzy

Ozzy, you're in the same group with M.J., right?

If so, talk to his dad, Mark and see if he'll sponsor you.

Mike

I'm not in that group. I'm in troop 184 in North Tonawanda. I've been wanting to do this project for a long time.

Ozzy

Send me an email at mmiller@mtb.com and I'll try to hook you up with Mark Lewandowski.

Thanks Mr. Miller. Keep up with the GREAT work on the BCT.

Ozzy

Is this true that, British developer Bashar Issa is interested in redeveloping the Central Terminal for its original use and has designers working on preliminary plans for the buildings and site.

Is this true? I don't want a corupted owner buying this great building and tearing it down!

Ozzy

Follow up

If this guy does make the terminal back to its old glory, he better buy the platform area and make an arch way over pass.

The platform area is the HEART of the terminal. That where all the Hudsons and the Empire State Express trains made their mark in history.

Ozzy

Ozzy, yes it is true, but we will go to great lengths to legally ensure that the building will be protected if sold to anyone.

Thank you
