By Mike Miller...

I attended the premier of "Central Terminal: Saving a Buffalo
Landmark" at the beautiful Montante Cultural Center (formerly St.
Vincent de Paul's R.C. Church) in the Canisius College campus last
night.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Barbara Irwin, Canisius College students
Kirsten Jahn and Scott Richardson began their ambitious work last
December. Enduring extreme cold at the terminal, hundreds of hours of
filming, editing, compiling information and blending it all together,
these two did a fantastic job of telling the complete story of the
Central Terminal. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was
extremely pleased at the outcome. The resulting half hour documentary
was sensitive, informative and moving. A very mature effort from 2 fine
young adults.

There was a brief speech given by Dr. Irwin and C.T.R.C. President
Russell Pawlak, followed by a question and answer session with the whole
panel. There are plans to market the documentary to WNED and the rights
for it will be turned over to the C.T.R.C. Stay tuned to the C.T.R.C.
website for further details.

Comments:
I had a bunch of fun at the clean-up. I hope it will be fully restored to its former glory. This might sound a little crazy but, I think you should do a fundraiser for the lights. Possibly a telethon.

PLEASE POST UP THE PHOTOS OF THE CLEAN-UP SOON

Ozzy

The lights I'm talking about are the fancy ones that were in the concourse.

Ozzy

Ozzy, it was nice to meet you.

We've been talking about reproducing some of these lamps, as the matter of locating and purchasing the originals is too cost prohibitive. Check out the gallery for pictures of some of our lamps in Hong Kong.

I took a few photos that did not come out too well, due to the dust, sorry!

I think a fund raiser might work. I know a lot of people that would do anything to see this place back to the way it was.

Ozzy

Ozzy, we don't know where all but 4 of the lamps even are. Two of the entrance lamps we found were going for $8K a pair. We could fix more drains, etc. with that kind of money!

PS - we did have a donation campaign to get those lamps back. It wasn't as successful as we'd hoped.
